I've turned on the national news channels over the last day or so, I see plenty of OJ Simpson coverage, other celebrity coverage. Meanwhile, the Lam Luong murder of his 4 children remains local. Lam Luong, who wants to be remembered like the 9/11 hijackers, threw his 4 children off of the Dauphin Island bridge, which is 80 feet at it's highest point. It's still unsure which span of the bridge they were thrown from. These are small children we're talking about. All but one unfound.
Back before Britney Spears became a hasbin, little sister Jamie Lynn used to always be by her side, you'd see them together in many pictures. Once Britney decided to throw away fame and success for useless and trashy, you didn't really seem them together much anymore. I always hoped Jamie Lynn would look at her sister, realize she's not such a good role model, and not follow her down that path. Apparently that's not going to happen as it's now been reported that 16 year old Jamie Lynn is pregnant.
While I wish they would work on fixing existing problems with the core adsense interface, it seems Google would rather play around with flashy new adsense ad units. But at least it's pretty cool and new to me. Of course I was behind the curve on the
last change I saw. Just like that one, I stumbled across this new ad unit over at
Website Publisher and managed to get it to come back up so I could get a
video of it. It's a nice improvement to the text links running across the bottom anyway.
For the
seventh time this year the #2 team has fallen. And #1 has fallen throughout the year. There is only one undefeated team in the country, as of tonight, and they're not even in the top 10. A perfect season, regardless of strength of schedule, blah blah, and they're not in the top 10. They're speculating an Ohio State (1 loss) and LSU (2 loss) matchup for the championship game. June Jones, and the rest of the Hawaii football team, I commend you and at least you'll get that shot at
a bowl game.
It's very sad and pathetic that it has been nearly a month since I made
this post about problems with Google. Within a few days of that post the webmaster tools problem was apparently fixed. However, I
still cannot verifiy my new bank account because of the same issue I've been having. I log in once a week to give it a try and my emails continue go ignored as well. And my first email was sent well before I even made that post. My account also shows that I've been paid.....to my bank account that no longer exists. Nice.
How in the hell can you run over the top of Tennessee, play LSU a good game that could've been a win, and then lose pathetically to a freakin' high school football team? I never expected a miracle turnaround season, I was sort of expecting a 7-5 or 6-6 season. Never did I think that would actually happen. In the 31 years of my life I've never been as disappointed and embarrassed to pull for the Crimson Tide as I was today. Losing to Mississippi State is one thing, there's no excuse losing to Louisiana-Monroe.
Hang on. Stick with me here, it's a simple concept. The Chapman family, they're all black. One of the sons decides to date a white girl. Duane has a problem with it, leaves a message to his son - "Can't date a honky" - "we say fuckin' cracker all the time" - "cant be liable". Son, and girlfriend, with a chance to earn some cash (oops, sorry), releases the tape to the public. End of story. No, There is no story. So then the world moves on to the next issue. But it isn't that way, so it has to be a
huge issue with no end in sight.
It started during a beautiful afternoon on November 1st. I'm sitting on the couch watching TV around 2:00 pm when I hear this "click" -- it came from the general area of my computer. My couch sits about 10 feet from the computer desk so it was noticeable. I glanced over and both monitors still show the screensavers running (I normally don't run them, but I have a new dual monitor setup and have the
Matrix thing going). Anyway, back to watching TV. About 20 minutes later, things really got interesting.
Ok, I'm normally not a solicitor, but I thought I'd use my blog for something good. I'm trying to gather donations for two causes, both of them benefit children. The first, which is constrained by time, is Toy for Tots. A group of ladies I know organize a large Toys for Tots drive and are actively seeking donations. My dad and I always contribute, and I would like to reach out to others as well. It's constrained by time because everything needs to be in by the 2nd week in December.
I'm constantly amazed at how Google is considered as great as they are when most of the time their website half-ass functions. I've been trying for
weeks to verify a new bank account in their Adsense program so they can
pay me the money they owe me and I continously recieve the error,
We apologize for the inconvenience, but we are unable to process your request at this time. Our engineers have been notified of this problem and will work to resolve it. Obviously not. And emails about this situation go ignored as well.
